• The importance of numu/nue/NC separation
cannot be overemphasized
Goals
• Use ANN techniques to classify/identify Neutrino Interactions on “event-by-event” basis using topological and physical characteristics of neutrino events derived from MC generated interactions:
• CC νμ νe , NC (FD, ND)
• QE, SP, DIS (???)
• Classify electrons/hadrons/muons (CALDET)
• Requirement: MC should be capable of describing very well the neutrino data.
• Monte Carlo CALDET events for ANN training
• Comparative study of MC and data
• Identify Discriminating variables
• Develop ANN architectures
• Produce output functions
Need: Access to CALDET data + CALDET MC
