A Global Problem
Because of the work you have shared with us, we
have realised that the problem of animals
becoming endangered is worldwide.
Some animals are killed
because people want their
beautiful skins.

We have looked at the patterns they
have and have tried to carefully copy
them.

Caara is looking at the beautiful feathers on this parrot.
Hanna really likes the stripes on the zebra.
We made large scale models of some of the
animals we learnt about.
We hope you like them!

We have listened to stories about Elmer.
He makes us smile.
Elmer gets up to all sorts of adventures and makes us laugh. We really enjoy all the stories.
Elmer and his friends could be in danger because their homes are being destroyed by humans.
Deforestation means that trees are being
cut down leaving many animals
homeless.
When we saw this picture, it
made us think of real elephants in
danger.

In the past, elephants have been killed by hunters for their tusks. The material from tusks is called ivory
and it used to be carved into very intricate ornaments.
Thankfully, his is now illegal.

We decided to try to help!
The ‘Born Free’ trust looks after endangered animals. We decided that we would like to help by adopting an
elephant.

We used small squares of paper to create Elmer collages. Then we framed them, exhibited them at our Comenius launch and sold
them. They money we raised will pay to adopt an elephant.
