What makes a mammal a mammal?

• Most baby mammals grow inside their mother until they are born.

• Mammal babies drink milk from their mothers until they are old enough to eat other food.

• Mammals are warm-blooded, which means that they can make their own body heat even when it is cold outside.

What makes a reptile a reptile?

• Reptiles usually lay eggs, and the babies then grow inside the egg until they are ready to come out.

• Cold-blooded animals, like reptiles become hotter and colder, depending on the temperature outside. When it is cold outside, these animals are usually cold. When it is warm outside, these animals are warm to!

• Amphibians lay thousands and sometimes millions of small, soft eggs, and they lay them in the water! The eggs are jelly-like.

• Amphibians are also cold blooded like reptiles.
