The Processional Hymn:

Jesus Shall Reign Where're The SunAuthor: Isaac Watts (1719)

Jesus shall reign where'er the sundoes its successive journeys run,his kingdom stretch from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more.To him shall endless prayer be made, and praises throng to crown his head. His name like sweet perfume shall risewith every morning sacrifice.People and realms of every tonguedwell on his love with sweetest song, and infant voices shall proclaimtheir early blessings on his name.Blessings abound where'er he reigns:the prisoners leap to lose their chains, the weary find eternal rest, and all who suffer want are blest.Let every creature rise and bringthe highest honors to our King, angels descend with songs again, and earth repeat the loud amen. Amen

Sentence: From the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my Name shall be great among the Gentiles, and in every place incense shall be offered unto my Name, and a pure offering for my Name shall be great among the heathen, says the Lord of hosts. Mal 1:11

“Loving Shepherd of thy sheep”

Loving Shepherd of Thy sheep, Keep Thy lamb, in safety keep; Nothing can Thy power withstand; None can pluck me from Thy hand.

Where Thou leadest we would go, Walking in Thy steps below,Till before our Father's throne We shall know as we are known

Call to Worship

Beloved, we are come together in the presence of almighty God and of the whole company of heaven to offer unto him through our Lord Jesus Christ

Page 2

our worship and praise and thanksgiving; to make confession of our sins; to pray, as well for others as for ourselves, that we may know more truly the greatness of God's love and shew forth in our lives the fruits of his grace; and to ask on behalf of all men such things as their well-being doth require. Wherefore let us kneel in silence, and remember God's presence with us now.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore thou those who are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind In Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

Old Testament Reading: 1 Kings 20:13-22

Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’”14 “But who will do this?” asked Ahab. The prophet replied, “This is what the Lord says: ‘The junior officers under the provincial commanders will do it.’”

Page 5

The Old Testament Reading is taken from the 20th Chapter of the Book of Kings beginning from the 13th verse.

“And who will start the battle?” he asked. The prophet answered, “You will.”15 So Ahab summoned the 232 junior officers under the provincial commanders. Then he assembled the rest of the Israelites, 7,000 in all. 16 They set out at noon while Ben-Hadad and the 32 kings allied with him were in their tents getting drunk. 17 The junior officers under the provincial commanders went out first. Now Ben-Hadad had dispatched scouts, who reported, “Men are advancing from Samaria.”18 He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive; if they have come out for war, take them alive.”19 The junior officers under the provincial commanders marched out of the city with the army behind them 20 and each one struck down his opponent. At that, the Arameans fled, with the Israelites in pursuit. But Ben-Hadad king of Aram escaped on horseback with some of his horsemen. 21 The king of Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans. 22 Afterward, the prophet came to the king of Israel and said, “Strengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again.”

O WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS Author: John S. B. Monsell,

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim; With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness, Kneel and adore Him: the Lord is His Name!Low at His feet lay thy burden of carefulness,High on His heart He will bear it for thee,And comfort thy sorrows, and answer thy prayerfulness, Guiding thy steps as may best for thee be.Fear not to enter His courts in the slendernessOf the poor wealth thou wouldst reckon as thine; For truth in its beauty, and love in its tenderness, These are the offerings to lay on His shrine. These, though we bring them in trembling and fearfulness,He will accept for the Name that is dear;Mornings of joy give for evenings of tearfulness,Trust for our trembling and hope for our fear. Amen

The New Testament Readindg in Mathew 13:44-53

The New Testament Reading is taken from the13th Chapter of the Acts of Apostles beginning from the 44th verse.

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. 47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51 “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked. “Yes,” they replied. 52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.” 53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.

THE APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into the dead. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He Shall come again to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord be with youAnd also with youLet us prayLord have mercy upon usChrist, have mercy upon usLord have mercy upon usOur Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. God is with us, God is with us, So our brave forefathers sang, Far across the field of battle Loud their holy war cry rang; Though at times they feared and faltered, Never once they ceased to sing: God is with us, God is with us, Christ our Lord shall reign as King! God is with us, God is with us, Christ our Lord shall reign as King! Amen
