Investigating how to maximise the power of the Paralympics to inspire, engage and enable more young disabled people to achieve their personal best in sport and to facilitate the understanding, acceptance and engagement in disabilityand disability sport.

•Detailed discussions with individual teachers, young people and sport development professionals

•Teacher focus groups in conjunction with LOCOG/BOA

•Analysis of Nielsen research on the impact of Get Set- quantitative and qualitative

Key findings-•Mainstream schools need more support and confidence if they are to proactively engage with young disabled people in their school or family of schools. •Parents are a key influence on young disabled people getting involved in sport but need more support from schools, clubs and NGB’s.•Paralympians are incredibly inspirational and schools want to have opportunities to connect with them and their lives.•Paralympic sport should continue to be promoted and broadcast through a variety of mediums.•Schools are keen to access opportunities to engage with and witness the best of disability sport.
