HistoryAndroid Inc. was founded in October 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, & Chris White in Palo Alto, California. It was originally meant to be an advanced operating system for digital cameras but it was instead developed into a smartphone operating system to compete with Symbian and Windows Mobile.Android Inc. was acquired by Google on Aug. 2005 for around $50 million.The first android device is the HTC Dream. It was released on October 22, 2008.
