He is passionate about participatory design methods that create new communities and networks in the local context of each project. His keen interest in the juxtaposition of culture, history, politic and people’s daily lives drives his efforts in facilitating workshops, teaching, cultural analysis and participatory design. At arki_lab, Andreas has been working with user involvement, development of urban spaces and evaluation of involvement processes. His work is done on several levels - from concept and strategy development to facilitating workshops and data analysis. Latest, he has been the project manager and general editor of arki_lab’s new book: The City as a Classroom. Designing for Outdoor Learning. Jørgensbjerg | Roskilde, DK 2011-12 Volunteer tutor: Danish Refugee Council | Copenhagen, DK SELECTED PROJECTS 2019 A CO-CREATIVE CITYLAB | Asnæs, DK An empty building in the city of Asnæs was transformed into a City Lab and used as a platform for an extensive citizen involvement proces resulting in a strategy and two new urban spaces. 2018 PILOT PROJECT FOR NEW TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS | Melbourne, AU In collaboration with Transport for Victora, arki_lab delivered a strategy for transport-related pilot projects in the City of Melbourne. 2018 HORSENS HIGH STREET | Horsens, DK In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team we won a competition to redesign Horsens High Street. 2018 WASTE INNOVATION | Copenhagen, DK In close collaboration with residents from Valby Have arki_lab developed a prototype of a multi- functional waste separation solution. 2017 DESIGNING AN OUTDOOR WORKSHOP | Høje-Taastrup, DK arki_lab worked in close collaboration with teachers and students at Gadehaveskolen to design and build an outdoor workshop. 2017 A LIVELY OUTDOOR CLASSROOM | Copenhagen, DK arki_lab conducted a series of workshops with three local schools in Nørrebro to explore possibilities and challenges as well as generate ideas on outdoor education and learning spaces.
