www.lhm.org/international Radio, Television and New Media Many of Lutheran Hour Ministries’ international ministry centers provide television specials and locally produced radio and television programming on topics of interest. Lutheran Hour Ministries programs attract a wide variety of audiences and invite them to contact the local ministry center to learn more about Jesus Christ. When a listener or viewer responds to a broadcast, a staff member provides him or her with Christian literature, along with opportunities to take a Lutheran Hour Ministries Bible Correspondence Course and connect with a local church. The staff member will also pray with the new contact. Lutheran Hour Ministries is constantly exploring ways to use evolving media to spread the Gospel. Some ministry centers have dramatically expanded their radio programming by making it available over the Internet. One ministry center has developed an interactive video-based version of the LHM’s Bible Correspondence Courses to reach young people who prefer to learn online rather than through print materials. Where cell phones are common, ministry centers invite people to subscribe to receive daily Christ-centered text messages or to send text messages in response to radio and television programs.
