Dear Parents,

Please join us at Mass tomorrow.

We will be commissioning our new ministers (lectors,

hospitality, and Eucharistic) during the homily.

If you are a Veteran, please come to Mass tomorrow as

we celebrate your service to our country!

As I stated previously, one of my personal goals is to be grateful and present.

Luke 20:34-38 Reflecting on the Word

The Sadducees had approached Jesus, looking to trick

him with a question of which man, in the resurrection, will be married to a woman widowed seven times. Jesus

does not respond directly to their query. Instead, he says that to God, all are alive-even the dead. Our Catholic

funeral liturgy tells us that life is changed, not ended

Though relationships may cease after death, the love that formed them will not. Love never dies, and we are

destined to live in that Love-that is, to live in God-forever.

What do you think heaven is like? What will it be like to be with God forever?

On the Way Home from Mass……

Children have questions about death and the afterlife.

Explain that your departed loved one is at peace; that their soul is alive and with God. Encourage your children

to share feelings or fears.

Living the Word

In the Catholic tradition, November is a time to honor

the dead. Set up a prayer table devoted to your beloved

dead. Add a candle, flowers, Bible, and photographs or other mementos. Pray that all of your beloved dead

might be with God in heaven, and give thanks for the love you still share with them. Invite your children to

draw or write about a memory they have about the

departed loved one, and talk about why that person was special to them.
