STEP 1. Go to khanacademy.org and click “Sign Up” if you do not currently have a Khan Academy account. If you already have an account, sign in and skip to STEP 5.
STEP 2. Choose to sign in with either Google, Facebook or an email address. I highly recommend Google or using your school email address and ID as password.
STEP 3. After you sign in, the next screen will have you choose the GRADE you will be entering this upcoming school year (which will be 7th grade).
STEP 4. The next screen will have you choose the COURSE you will be taking this upcoming year (which will be Pre-Algebra).
STEP 5. Choose TEACHERS on the left side panel and enter the course code: NGTCAUZY in the “Join a Class” box.
STEP 6. Your “dashboard” will look like this. There are no assignments to complete here. Assignments will NOT automatically appear. They MUST be added by your teacher AFTER you sign up (THIS COULD TAKE UP TO ONE WEEK).
STEP 7. Click EDIT PROFILE on the top right corner of your “dashboard” page to change your name to your real name. Without your real name (first AND last name), you will NOT receive credit for the summer assignment.
STEP 8. When your teacher assigns your summer work (remember this may take up to one week), the assignments will appear in the Assignments tab. The assignments that appear on that screen are the ONLY assignments you should complete. YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED 18 ASSIGNMENTS. If there are no assignments when you join Khan Academy, you must WAIT for the teacher to add you to the class. For example, you may join the class on Monday but, the teacher may add the assignments for you the following Friday. The 18 assignments are DUE BEFORE AUGUST 16th.
IMPORTANT: To earn credit for the summer assignment, you must earn a 75% or above on all assignments. There are a total of 18 assignments. Assignments will appear on Monday, June 8th. Please join the class BEFORE June 7th. Any student who joins AFTER June 7th will have to wait for the teacher to assign them their work (remember this may take up to one week). The 18 Assignments on Khan Academy are due BEFORE August 16.
