The counts and ensuing princes of Fürsten-berg belong to one of Europe’s oldest aristo-cratic families. They ruled the Principality of Fürstenberg, one of Southwest Germany’s largest territories, until 1806. The family’s residence has been located in Donaueschin-gen since 1723. Horses and the equestrians-port has a long standing traditon at the princes court. The CHI Donaueschingen (S.D. Fürst Joachim zu Fürstenberg-Gedächtnis-turnier) counts among to the richest in tradi-tions international horse tournaments and enjoys an excellent reputation. Seven years ago polo arrived at the court in Donau-eschingen.

Heredity Prince Christian zu Fürstenberg be-gan playing polo himself in 2008; his wife H.S.H. The Heredity Princess Jeannette fol-lowed him in this sport two years later. The Fürstenberg Polo Club was founded in 2010 with the purpose of promoting polo in South-ern Germany. Alongside the Fürstenberg Cup, four further low goal tournaments were organ-ised during the 2011 season. In the fall of 2011 it was decided to professionally recondition the playing field and from 2012 to increase its playing quality even further.

Fürstenberg Polo Club has a very good infra-structure. Extensive, park-like grounds with two fields (1 playing field and 1 practice field), a comfortable and very cosy clubhouse. The horses are quartered in the historic stables of Fürstenberg castle and in the new-built stables.In the season (April to September) the training takes place every Wednesdays and as well as Saturday and Sunday. New members are most welcome to take an active part at the live of the Fürstenberg Polo Club. To be a member of the Fürstenberg Polo Club involves promoting both: To cultivate the polosport together with friends and enjoy as well as the club life with it.

Acht internationale Teams aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, der Schweiz, Brasilien und Argentinien kämpften um den begehrten Fürs-tenberg Polo Cup in Donaueschingen. Der «Fürstenberg Polo Cup presented by Beren-berg» ist seit 2007 ein fester Bestandteil der deutschen Poloszene. Nach drei spannenden Spieltagen gewann das Team der AHG Land Rover mit Emanuele Boni (0), Juan Pepa (+3), Davor Luksic (0) und Marcello Caivano (+3) denkbar knapp mit 3,5:3 Goals im Final um

den Gold Cup gegen das Team Haus Fürsten-berg, das mit dem gastgebenden Erbprinzen-paar Jeannette zu Fürstenberg (0) und Chris-tian zu Fürstenberg (0) sowie Felipe Lorente (+3) und Jorge Pepa (+3) antrat. Über alle vier Chukker war die Partie ausgeglichen. Erst in der letzten Minute gelang Juan Pepa das ent-scheidende Tor. Den Silver Cup sicherte sich das Team Berenberg im Match gegen das Team Bad Dürrheimer Mineralbrunnen mit 5:2,5 Goals.

Fürstenberg Polo Cup 2015In the contest for the Gold Cup, which was pivotal for winning the Fürstenberg Polo Cup, the Team AHG Land Rover pre-vailed against the Team Haus Fürstenberg with 3.5-3 goals. The Silver Cup match was won by the Team Berenberg with 5-2.5 goals defeating the Team Bad Dürrheimer Mineralbrunnen.
