We recommend that you contact the laboratory before undertaking any sampling programs. Our staff can provide advice on minimum sample volumes, sample preservation and holding times as well as correct sampling technique. AST provides all bottles required for sampling. Different container types and bottles are required for different types of tests. Bottles are prepared and assessed for appropriateness for each test and are batch tested for contaminants. Return postage for samples is included in the quoted price. For customers with regular monitoring programs we are able to automate recurring bottle orders and minimise paperwork involved with sample submissions. Drinking Water Compliance TestingAST can assist with testing for compliance withmultiple guidelines, including the AustralianDrinking Water Guidelines (ADWG), and PrivateWater Suppliers’ drinking water regulations.We can also give advice as to whether the testresults fall within guideline levels and can set up notification alerts if required, including toregulatory bodies.

Wastewater, Trade Waste and Tankered WasteAST is able to support light and heavy industriesto meet their wastewater, trade waste andtankered waste monitoring obligations.Accredited testing services are also available forsediments and sludges for typical EPN or permitrequirements.

Environmental MonitoringAST provides a comprehensive accreditedanalysis suite to support low-level environmental monitoring obligations, evaluation of water quality, and research studies.

Shellfish Toxin Compliance MonitoringAST has a dedicated team of staff and modern state-of-the-art testing equipment on-call for rapid compliance testing of toxins for export and local shellfish markets.

AS/NZ 4187:2014 Sterilizer Water Compliance TestingAST offers NATA accredited testing suites stipluated in this standard, including quantitative testing for bacterial endotoxins.Solid waste classification and Bulletin 105Solid waste disposal to landfill must be classifiedaccording to EPA Bulletin 105. AST is able toperform the tests required for classification.Contaminated site assessment and compliancewith the NEPMAST holds NATA accreditation for test methods recommended for assessing site contamination. AST can assist with meeting the testing requirements specified in the NEPM for local conditions. Please contact AST if testing against NEPM guidelines is required.

Accreditation and Quality AssuranceAST operates under a quality managementsystem in compliance with the requirements ofinternational standard ISO/IEC 17025: 2005, accredited in Australia by NATA and recognised internationally by ILAC.

AST is a Class 5.1 Quarantine ApprovedPremises. Our staff are trained in BiosecurityAustralia laboratory processes and are highlycompetent with quarantine handling procedures.Please contact us before submitting quarantinematerial.
