Drop CapThe drop cap has been used start the article off. The capital ‘M’ in this article has been colour matched with the house style of the page.

GutterThe gutter is used to separate the two columns making it easy for the audience to read.

Caption on photographThis is used to tell the reader who the picture was of and where it was taken.

Page numberThis helps the reader find articles as the page number would correlate with a number on the contents page.

Side barThis has been used to inform readers of the new MCR tracks relating to the article in question.

Main BodyThe main body has all the main story in it. In this case it is a biography of the band and what they have been up to recently.

KickerThis has been used to hook the reader into the article and make them want to read on my attracting their attention.

Leading textThe leading text is the title of the article sometimes it’s the band name.

InterviewThe content of the main body is an interview.

KickerThe kicker is used to start of the main body of the text it attracts that reader to the article by telling them about what is included.

Main ImageThe main image is associated and relevant to the feature article on the double page spread. It is used as a visual effect so that the reader can put an image with the article.
