It hasnt been an easy year for so many

of us in 2011, but as I am typing this

newsletter I am watching Sky news and

the terrible fallout from the Japanese

earth quake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.

It is so humbling in so many ways but

also confirms my life philosophy of liv-

ing each day like it is my last. To allthe cardmakers reading this letter - and

I know there are a few, I challenge you

to make a card today for now particular

occasion and send it to someone who

you may have lost touch with or maybe

you just need to touch base with.

Maybe someone who you forgot to send

a Christmas card to or simply to say Hi.

Sorry to be so morbid, but I know so

many of us make cards and cards and

cards, but today let us send them out.

stock that were launched at CHA in

America and at the trade show in

Birmingham so come and spend some

time with us. Not only is there a free

demo, but free tea, coffee and cookies

I am delighted that the class list and

timetable of the Spring extravaganza is

finally out. It has been a bit like plan-ning a blank jigsaw puzzle. All the bits

had to fit, but I also had to make sure

that the picture turned out fab. We

have a great line-up of tutors, and some

fantastic classes. But remember the

classes are only part of it. It is free to

attend and there will be free demonstra-

tions for the 2 days supported by 7

shops!

My very clever son tells me that as a

result of the earthquake the year is

actually shorter, as is each day. I am not

surprised - I have been feeling that way

for a while. When I sat down to plan

things for the next quarter and found

that with Easter being late, the first

time I could get to Dublin was in May, I

was really surprised. Take a look at

our calender for the next few months,

we have some excellent workshops

planned to keep us all inspired.

AdvancedcardswithPhil!There are just very few places left on

our advanced cards class with

Philomena Sullivan on the 26th of

March. I have seen the cards and they

are really clever. Just to define -

advanced cards can be tackled by any -

one who has been cardmaking for a few

months and has the basics of folding

and stamping. The cards are just a lit-

tle more complicated and challenging,

but are the great ones - that the neigh-

bours really wont know how you did it!

If you want to book in - call Kim as

soon as you can because the places are

limited.

Well, I finally have all the jigsaw pieces in place,

and am ready to start loading the classes onto the

website. I am really excited and I am sure that

we are in for a really good event this year.

7 Shops and 16 Great classes

We have 7 shops signed up, and a really good

range of classes, now confirmed and the tutors

are booked. Although we have lots of info in this

newsletter the best info can be found on the dedi-

cated Spring Extravaganza website which has

links to all the tutors blogs where you can get

sneak peaks and tastes of the gorgeous things youmight be making if you book in.

So much is Free

The Spring Extravaganza is free to attend! In

addition to the fantastic shopping we will have 2

demonstration tables with free demonstrations

throughout both Saturday and Sunday where you

can stop, take a load off and simply watch

demonstrations by top demonstrators using all the

latest goodies.

I havent finalised the demo timetable, but just a

sneak peak of what is planned ...

A New Venue

This year the Spring Extravaganza is taking place

at the Carlton Hotel on the Dublin Road inGalway. This lovely venue is really easy to get to

from the main motorway and is just behind the

Eye Cinema. The shopping and demo area and

class room is lovely and airy and the food has

already been checked out by me! They are offer-

ing crafters great deals on booking if you fancy

various Yellow Clubs and have also had some lovely

I really enjoy doing the Yellow Clubs and it makes me

so happy to know that they are appreciated! All three

clubs are now at record levels and we are in a position

Every coffee morning is different, and I

love them all. It is so nice to take time to

sit down and spend time talking about

crafts with crafters, and of course the

cake and tea helps!

We are hoping to have some sponsored

coffee mornings in the near future - so

look out for those texts.

Join us from 10:30 to 12:30 on generally

on the second Friday of the month,

although sometimes we do swop things

about due to holidays and events.

planned and sometimes a bit impr, and we cannot always

send out a newsletter for each one. What we tend to do

these days is to simply send out a quick text.

Now the evenings are longer we have had some evening

card making and scrapbooking classes, and of course we

have our regular Wednesday cardmaking classes which

happen every single Wednesday and cost only 10 Euros to

attend.
