Wireless power transfer (WPT) or wireless energy transmission is the transmission of electrical power from a power source to a consuming device without using solid wires or conductors. It is a generic term that refers to a number of different power transmission technologies that use time-varying electromagnetic fields. Wireless transmission is useful to power electrical devices in cases where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous, or are not possible. In wireless power transfer, a transmitter device connected to a power source, such as the mains power line, transmits power by electromagnetic fields across an intervening space to one or more receiver devices, where it is converted back to electric power and utilized.

In 1893 Nicola Tesla lights a lamp with electromagnetic induction. In 1960s General Electric introduces the electric Toothbrush that charges wirelessly. In 1998 ALTICOR powers UV Lamps wirelessly and underwater.

In 2007 a MIT Team experimentally demonstrates Wireless power transfer , potentially usefull for powering laptops, cell phones without cords.

We cannot live without Electricity.

Then, Do we really conveniently use electricity?, Maybe not.

Many inconvenient cords. Complicatedly twisted cables.

Can't it be more convenient?

Wireless power technology has been developed for last one century since Nikola Tesla has proven that the Wireless power transfer is posible. About 6 years ago, MIT has succeeded in transfeering power more tan 2 metres. It becomes the world wide record. Recently, we have achieved 5 metres long distance Wireless power that is about 2.5 times longer tan the MITs achievement. This is Wireless power. That is the application and this is the future of the Wireless power.

The characteristics are :

Transfer power to many people at the same time. Harmless to human body if not exceed international guideline of magnetic field. No power loss through obstacles such as human bodies or metal.

Wireless power can be widely used. We dont want to have cords for powering, So we can remove the cords and also we can remove even the Wireless charging. We dont need any charging, we can use like wWi-Fi. We can use the mobile phones or notebooks wherever and whenever we want to use without any charging itself.
