In this opportunity I am going to discuss about what is by Barcode.

Perhaps one of the most under rated inventions belongs to the barcode. Barcodes aren't given much thought by the majority of consumers, but these codes were fairly implemented, in a working fashion, in 1970.

In 1948, Bernard Silver and his students began working on a solution involving an automatic way of keeping track of items which had been sold. They finished the solution in 1952. The patent for the barcode system was filed by Silver and one of his students.

The invention of the barcode may not appear as complex, ground breaking, or revolutionary as many other inventions, but few have been as understated, however so effective time-saving, efficient and manageable.

A bar code essentially is a way to include information in a visual pattern that machine can read. The combination of black and white bars represents different text characters which follow a algoritm for that bar code type.

Barcode is an optical machine-readable representation of data related to the object to which it is attached. Barcode is a series of bars and spaces to identify items by varying the width and space. Barcodes are useful in sales and inventory tracking, shipping, product manufacturing, medical industry, post office, non-retail, packaging sectors etc

Barcode technologies are helpful in Retail, Pharmaceuticals, Transportation, Inventory, Shipping, Library and other industries.

It seems difficult to understand how they can have some impact in the world, but have completely changed the way we buy. Barcodes have slowly become an important part of modern life. They are used in many places, and the technology is constantly improving.

In sales, the use of barcodes can provide up-to-date information to help the business. For example: Things that are sold can be ordered before the store runs out of them. Changes in price can be updated one time in the computer, so the cashier doesn't need to look it up or remember what's on sale. Products can be tracked over time, to predict seasonal changes in demand. When used on a company card used by shoppers, the company can track the buying patterns of shoppers.
