CASE STUDIES

Southmead Hospital, Bristol• £430m state-of-the-art healthcare facility has 800 beds, 75% of which are en-suite. • Wandsworth Healthcare worked extensively with designers DSSR, architects BDP and 10 hospital departments to design, supply and

install an IPiN Nurse Call system to unify critical departments and operating rooms. • Comprising more than 7,000 components, much of the system was fitted offsite into the bathroom pods and modular walls to enable

rapid installation once in the hospital.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham • The £623 million Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham has IPiN Evolution installed throughout. • Dubbed the first ‘super hospital’, the Queen Elizabeth has 1,213 beds, 176 of which are acute and 96 are ICU each of which are serviced

with Wandsworth MSCs and horizontal trunking. • Wandsworth fitted the bedhead services into a wall system to provide a clean and uncluttered environment in patient areas.• Each section of horizontal trunking was custom-fitted to the hospital’s specific requirements for each patient room. This was supplied

to site pre-gassed, wired and fully assembled, ready to be installed in the required locations.

The Walton Centre, Liverpool• Part of a multi-million pound expansion and modernisation project.• Replacing the old nurse call system with IPiN Nurse Call, which enables the Trust to centralise the monitoring and operating of systems,

as well as ensure greater care for patients, and improve staff and cost efficiencies. • Wandsworth have designed, manufactured and installed bespoke, flush-mounted, Medical Service Columns (MSC) for each of the

medical suites and 31 beds in the Walton Centre’s new hospital building. • Over the next five years Wandsworth will be working with the Trust to fully refurbish and future proof the remaining areas of the

existing building with IPiN Evolution.

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital:• 953 bed, state of the art NHS academic teaching hospital.• Wandsworth were specified to provide their fully IP IPiN Nurse call solution• IPiN mobile: Allowing for nurse, emergency and cardiac calls, as well as admin and reporting to be viewable, in real time on allocated

android mobile phones. • IPiN mobile system operates over the trust’s WiFi network and is currently in use across the hospital’s Cardiology and Cardiac care

units.• IPiN mobile is also being utilised by the hospitals chosen maintenance /service and support company, whose engineers are able to

receive, view and analyse live fault diagnostic reports on their mobile devices.
