Frank Buckley - Technical Engineer, Severn Glocon Group Frank joined Severn Glocon in 2011 and was placed on a two year TPaS (Technical Products and Services) Graduate training scheme. Since successful completion of the scheme he has held various technical roles within Severn, most recently a supporting role within the Actuator and Instrumentation department. To date Frank has over 10 years working within the valve industry.

Adam Eckersley - Technical Manager, Severn Glocon Group Adam joined Severn in 2006 and has worked in multiple disciplines including technical sales, design, aftermarket upgrades and failure mode analysis. Adam is currently responsible for Severn Glocon Group aftermarket upgrades, retrofitting, and Instrumentation/Actuation as well as Research and Design Development.

An Introduction to Control ValvesDate & Timings: 09 May 2018 / 09:00 - 17:00Location: Severn Glocon Group, Heywoods Industrial Park, Birds Royd Lane Brighouse, HD6 1NA A control valve is used to maintain variable conditions such as temperature, flow and pressure, which it does by opening or closing in response to an external signal. Control valves are used across multiple sectors including upstream, midstream and downstream processes, renewable and nuclear power production.

About this course

Examines the design, construction, selection and application of control and choke valves, severe service considerations and the consequences of poor specification and selection. A workshop tour will provide you with a practical insight into manufacture, assembly, instrumentation and testing.
