I am extremely overwhelmed by the love and

affection that you offer me year after year cel-

ebrating my birthday as Human Values Year

in the University.

When I hear and see the activities undertaken by

the students to imbibe, inculcate and promote

good human values, it fills me with a sense of

accomplishment, for I believe that there is noth-

ing more supreme than a good human being.

A society can only flourish if its people are tied

together with good values, morals and ethics.

When you grow up and step out of the portals of

Amity, you will realise that the most priceless

and valuable thing in life are good values. Re-

member, giving up values for the sake of valua-

bles will take you nowhere because valuables

will perish one day and eventually you will end

up with neither valuables nor values.

The other day I read in the newspapers that In-

dia, is slipping in the ‘Happiness index’. It made

me feel poignant because all progress and tech-

nological development is meaningless if we are

not happy.

It is therefore our responsibility to spread

good values and be good human beings. Only

then can we build a happy world. Good hu-

man values learnt during the growing up

years at home, school and during the sociali-

sation process, will remain with you all

through your life and serve as a pillar of

strength in times of crises, guiding you on the

right path. Values are essential for character

building.

A nation with a strong character foundation,

is the nation that will become a superpower,

something that our Founder President Dr

Today inculcation of core Human values

through learnings and practice amongst the

youth are inevitably required. Human values

are the characteristics that guide people to

consider the human component when one in-

teracts with other human. They have many

positive characters that create bonds of hu-

manity between people and thus have value

for all human beings. These human values

have the effect of bonding, soothing, consol-

ing and acquiring peacefulness. They build

space for a drive, a movement towards one an-

other, which leads to peace.

World Class Education clubbed with the best of

Indian values, culture and Sanskars can pro-

duce “Superhuman Beings”. In order to bring

students closer to human values of caring and

sharing, selfless love and affection and make

them principled and complete human beings, to

instil humanistic values amongst its students,

Amity University observes “Amity Human

Values Celebrations” from January 28 - April

27 each year., “Amity Human Values Celebra-

tions” is a cherished activity in the Universi-

ty giving students and entire Amity fraterni-

ty an opportunity to introspect and rededi-

cate them to the cause of the society.

During the quarter thousands of students

from various departments/institutions partic-

ipate in different competitive events such as

quiz, awareness campaigns, blood donation

camps, short film making, photography

competition, seminars, lectures, etc. Emi-

nent personalities from various fields were

invited to enlighten the students on human

values and ethics. Ideally, the concluding

ceremony of Amity Human Values Celebra-

tions coincided with the birthday of Dr.

(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity

International Schools but this year due to

unfortunate outbreak of pandemic across the

world, communities have been asked to stay

homebound. But this only made ordinary

individuals to limit themselves not

Amitians.

Value education is always essential to shape

one’s life and to giving an opportunity to

perform on the global stage. This special is-

sue newsletter of Amity Institute of Infor-

mation Technology, Noida, conceptualized

completely by its students is designed to

share the word and work performed by the

Institute during the quarter and beyond in

imparting the importance and need of Hu-

man Values amongst people of all age

groups.

I would like to congratulate the entire stu-

dent’s team as well as team of faculties at

AIIT, Noida for all the hard work invested

by them in performing all the activities as-

sociated with Human Value Quarter.

Most importantly, the purpose of having this

celebration, the Birthday of our Honourable

Chairperson Ma’am, on behalf of entire

HUMAN VALUES “We rise up by lifting others.” When we are born,

the first thing we are taught is values but why values? The answer is

pretty simple because they portray our character. We never knew that

we should greet our elders as well as younger ones. Our parents taught

us that, food, water, shelter and clothes are known to be the basic

amenities in one’s life but the most important amenity we forget, is

our values. We should focus on being benevolent towards humanity as

it cleanses our soul. .

Under human value every year, we aim at igniting a spark within eve-

ry human being by performing various activities such as donation of

clothes and food items, seva to Holy Places, organizing various

awareness programs. Under this students have shown a great interest

and have actively participated in the events organized. As said by

Ralph Waldo Emerson ““Humility and love are the greatest assets of

the Universe. When there is humanity in mankind, then there is order

in the Nation .” Working on these lines we aim at providing philan-

thropic, humanitarian ethics to students and spreading the same moral

principles to people near us and to people insensitive to the degraded

state of the society.

Objective: The pr imary objective of the event was to inculcate

an essence of sensitivity, bonding and affection towards nature.

Planting of a sapling is a simple yet a powerful and impacting ac-

tivity responsible for amelioration of the flora.

Student Learning Outcome: Students understood the rele-

vance and importance of caressing nature and such small steps

have induced in them a grace towards nature.

How Student will apply in real life: With such understanding

of caressing the nature, students will take appropriate steps for its

betterment in or outside the campus. Such small steps (i.e. water-

ing a plant, planting a sapling, etc) will teach them to treat mother

nature with respect.

Details of the activity: A bunch of students gathered at the

venue along with the respected faculty members. The event was

concluded after respected HOI sir along with some fellow students

planted the sapling.

I herby solemnly state that obeying the traffic traditions would be

my duty of uttermost importance whilst in a vehicle and that doing

so ensures my safety and that of others. I promise as present my fi-

delity in offering way to the nation’s emergency services like am-

bulance, police or fire brigade. Refraining myself from any indul-

gence in any quarrel due to traffic issues thus, further safeguarding

myself and others from any hurt or plausible harm.

VINTAGE GAMES

As we know ‘Vintage Games’ are those old and classic games, which are a

part of everyone’s life but not have been lost and are obsolete. The vintage

games are revived with the idea to recapitulate the past experiences of fun

activities.

Vintage games are dream of our Honorable Founder President Sir as Amity

tagline is “MODERNITY BLEND WITH TRADITION” .

The drive to play is in a way woven into man’s nature. It can be argued

that sports emerged out of the basic human necessity for survival. Skills

required to hunt and to fight formed the essential features of sports, which

have been evident right through the history of sports.

AIIT under the same tagline with the support of whole Amity family con-

ducted the vintage games and took all the participants back to their child-

hood and made them live that child spirit once again.

The games like HOPSCOTCH, LEMON RACE, PITTHU, SACK RACE,

DOG IN POND, MARBLES, etc, not only gave them happiness but also

taught them the different values like team spirit, boosting confidence, ac-

ceptance, management, that gives the true learning while enjoying.
