Macmillan Coffee

Morning We had a fantastic response to our Macmillan

coffee morning this year and raised almost £300. It was

great to see so many people in school having a chat enjoying

a cake and a coffee. Thank you for all the lovely donations.

Having fun learning All classes have started new projects for the autumn term and it has

been great to see so much learning taking place in a fun practical way.

Foundation Stage as always have been learning in a child

initiated way facilitated by quality interactions with adults in setting. They

had a great time when we had a visit from the fire service.

Year 1 and 2 have been learning about the hidden treasures of

the sea and have read lots of lovely stories on a sea theme. They have

session.

Remembrance This year to mark the 100 year anniversary of the

end of World War 1, we will be painting remembrance pebbles and taking

them to hide in the park on Friday 9th Nov. Other children finding the

stones will then learn about remembrance too. Children need to bring a

good sized (approx. 10cm x 5cm) stone or pebble into school on the first

day back after half term.

To CAP off a Great Harvest! A huge thank you to everyone who supported

our harvest appeal in support of the Community

Awareness Programme (C.A.P). C.A.P work with

members of our community that are vulnerable,

homeless and less fortunate than ourselves. We

also raised £160 for the Methodist Relief

Development Charity ‘All We Can’. Thank you if

you purchased a raffle ticket. As a school we

are proud to support such worthy causes.

Parents Evenings will be taking place after half term for children in

classes 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 (Foundation Stage are already meeting parents). Parents

evenings for classes 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 will take place on Monday 12th November 3.30-

6.30pm and Wednesday 14th November 3.30-5.30pm. The online system will open

at 9am on Tuesday 6th November and will remain open until Monday 12th November at

7.00 am.

Magic Week Just to let you know we are planning a special week in

school, the week beginning 19th November. During the week children in

school will all be working on activities based on a magic theme. Children will

be exploring various magical texts, scientific investigations and will be doing

lots of cross curricular magical writing. Children can come to school dressed

up as a magical character or creature on the Monday and Friday of that week.

Dates to Remember! Monday 5th November – INSET School closed for children.

Monday 12th November & Wednesday 14th November – parents evening booking opens Tuesday

6th November.

And finally…I hope you all have a great half term with your families and return fit and

well after the break. To see regular updates of the great things happening in school
