The following is a bibliography of books, pamphlets and samples of

adult basic education instructional materials currently available in

the DHEW Region VIII Adult Basic Education Library. This material

is available on loan to anyone engaged in educational programs for.

disadvantaged adults in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah,

and Wyoming. Library loans of this material may be secured by address-

ing requests to:

Library loans will normal/y be made for two weeks. Users of these

materials are responsible for their safe return to the library.

This bibliography is organized by suhject matter categories to assist you

in locating materials related to problems and issues confronted in adult

basic education. Therefore, any given reference may appear under several

different subject matter headings.

The copies of adult basic education instructional materials listed in the

last section of this bibliography are organized by publishers. These

materials are also available on loan as a service to adult basic education

personnel wishing to review a variety of materials prior to purchase for

inclusion in a program. A loan period of 2 weeks and safe return apply to

these materials as well as to the books and pamphlets.

As new acquisitions are made by the Adult Basic Education Library, supple-

ments to this bibliography will be prepared.
