In January, we told our students thatthey are the pioneers in creating anew solution for a successful integration.We have been successfully providinglife skills and vocational skill trainingsto homeless youths. But these skills
are not enough. Still many youthsfall back on the streets when notfinding jobs or their qualificationsdon't match the demands of labourmarket. Also the conomic crisis creates an impossible condition as wellas affecting the fundings and donations to maintain the services.
The idea of social enterprise hasbecome a promising solution in bothsolving economic and service issues, that applies businessstrategies to achieving philanthropicgoals.We modeled the training programsbased on a simplified social andeconomic behaviour in today'sworld. Providing the students withrealistic look at the jobbusinessmarket they must live in and givesfirsthand experience in creating andworking with the social issues whichwill dominate their lives.From this "microsociety" world, weare now moving to the real world.Between June to August, all students will have to attend certifiedvocational courses of their ownchoice as well are related to the jobmarket. During this time we are preparing for the social enterprise establishment to start in September.
January FebruaryOur 3rd year of providinglife and work skills for youthstarted with 10 new students and we added onenew skill domain (Work &Entreprenerial skills).In our two years of effortsto prepare homeless youthto exit the streets, life andvocational skills are notenough. The exhibitionwas held for five days indifferent companies. Anexcellent opportunity to exercise within a workingroutine with the help of ournewly created "departments". "Recreation &Sport" assigned and prepared the location for eachspace. TV room was converted to a "carpentry"workshop to manufacture75 picture frames andpaint 50 spoons.
