    INTRODUCTION.

    AM SIGNA AND MODUATIONINDE?

AM is one of the modulationtechniques where the amplitude ofthe carrier signal is changedaccordingly to the modulation index.

In the modulation process, thebaseband voice, video, or digitalsignal modies another, higher-frequency signal called the carrier, which is usually a sine wave. A sinewave carrier can be modied by the

intelligence signal through amplitudemodulation, frequency modulation, orphase modulation.

Figure ! AM, the informationsignal varies the amplitude ofthe carrier sine wave. "heinstantaneous value of thecarrier amplitude changes inaccordance with the amplitudeand frequency variations of themodulating signal.

(n amplitude modulation, it is particularlyimportant that the pea% value of the modulating

signal be less than the pea% value of the carrier.Mathematically ,

    THEORETICA MODUATION INDE?

1uestions ! 2iven a modulating signal with modulation of 30p andfrequency of $45h6, modulating a carrier with frequency of $445h6 and40p. reate your own %ind of AM based on this input. Analy6ed theperformance of your circuit in terms of modulation index, AM envelopeand its spectrum. ompare your simulated result with theory.
