Your Old 8.0 Desktop

The First Time You Log in with the New 8.3 client. Your desktop is automatically remodeled

Follow the instructions to Close and fully quit FC then:

log back in

This is Your Messy New Desktop viewed with 8.3 client There are some new FC applications along with the new look

To start your clean up: First Eliminate the split window. Choose View>Split> No Split

Don’t like the background? Dump it. Go to View>Change View Properties>

Uncheck Use Background

Click apply > OK

Move Icons around to see everything and Begin clean up

Background gone

Move any Bookmarks you have into the Bookmark folder

Drag and drop the bookmarks into the bookmark folder

To move the bookmarks:

The first time you try to use the bookmark folder, you will be asked if you want to add weblinks to your Bookmarks. This will make it so when you click save bookmark in your browser, it will be saved into the Bookmarks folder on your FC account. This makes them portable to any machine

Your bookmarks folder now contains your favorite internet destinations

OK my book marks are dragged and dropped

Get Rid of a couple of useless folders

Choose (by click shifting) the WCSU Policies, WCSU School Board and the SQUARE Help folder. Delete them

Junk Gone

Make new Folder

Consolidate some Conferences

Right click on folder, get Properties (mac = get Info)

Name the folder

Give the Folder a Name.

Change Icon if you want

Click to change Icon

Drag and Drop any district conferences into the folder

Repeat for other categories if desired.

Grouped District Conferences

Conferences Nested in My District

As before, go to View>Change View Properties> Background. Check Use Background Picture and choose from drop-down “\/” in image field. Click apply>OK
