Under ‘Work and education’ decide what you want to be visible to the public.

-Do you want potential employers to see your previous work or would you rather it was private?

-Do you want people to see which schools and university you attended?

2. Edit your ‘about’ information:Contact

Keep information like a personal mobile number or actual address private.

If you want people to still be able to contact you,set your email address to ‘Public’ or ‘Friends’.

2. Edit your ‘about’ information:Additional categories

Decide what other ‘About’ information you want to be visible, such as your family members, relationship status and your current location

Remember, you can leave some ‘About’ information blank if you want- you don’t have to fill everything in!

3. Monitor specific posts: Statuses

Before you post a new status make sure it is set to ‘Friends’, not ‘Public’.

Remember, you can go back and change past posts’ visibility at any time by selecting ‘Edit or remove’ to the right of the post.

3. Monitor specific posts: tagged posts

If someone posts something on your wall that you don’t want public, you can set it to ‘Friends’, ‘Only me’, hide it from your timeline or report it as spam.

3. Monitor specific posts: pictures

You can ‘Report/Remove a tag’ or hide pictures from your timeline thatyou have been tagged in by selecting the options at the bottom of the picture and in the right hand side bar.

4. Keep your personal and professional lives separate

Create a page for your professional information by using the ‘Create a page’ tab on the left hand menu.

Use this to share any posts of a work- related nature and keep personal photos or statuses to your private account. Information on your page can be public to give you more visibility.
