DESCRIPTION

The Black Hole

TRANSCRIPT

The black hole is like a whirl pool type but nothing can escape it, even light!!

To see why this can happen , for e.g. if you threw a tennis ball up into the air , the harder you throw the ball the higher it will go. If you

have a strong arm you could throw the tennis ball higher in the air and it may not come back to you. If you were in space and you threw the

ball in the black hole it will travel at about 7 miles a second.

Very heavy stars end their lives in a huge explosion. This explosion blows away every bit

of the outer parts of the star. Gas rushes outwards everywhere making a glowing shell.

All that is left is a very little hot star in the middle of the shell, which is a black hole.

We perceive this radiation as

colours from red to violet.

X-Rays have shorter

wavelengths than ultraviolet light but longer than gamma

rays.

The centre of a black hole is where all the

dust and gases swirl around.

The gathering of dust and gas going onto larger things such

as stars, planets and

moons.

Gas whose atoms have

lost or gained electrically

charge.
