Review Class Data
• What do you notice about student graphs?
• Are students making progress?
• Do you see any trends in performance?
• How might looking at your students’ graphs impact instruction?

AIMSweb – Return to Roster
Click ‘Back’ to return to student roster
Click ‘PDF’ to generate printable documents. Each student graph and goal/score summary is 2 pages long.

Evaluate Baseline Data
• Collect baseline data • Plot performance over time • Identify target goal date

Math CBM Growth Rates
• Realistic Growth Rates– Grades 1 - 3: 0.30 correct digits/week– Grades 4 - 5: 0.70-0.75 correct digits/week– Grade 6: 0.45 correct digits/week
• Ambitious Growth Rates– Grades 1 - 3: 0.50 correct digits/week– Grade 4: 1.15 correct digits/week– Grade 5: 1.20 correct digits/week– Grade 6: 1.10 correct digits/week

Using Growth Rates to Set Goals• Evaluate & Establish Baseline• Determine # of instructional weeks = 9• Use Math CBM Growth Rates• Calculate weekly increase of correct digits
– Realistic increase = .45– Ambitious increase = 1.1
Fuchs and Fuchs (1993)
• Find percentile rank at targeted end date– Is the goal a good estimate of student growth? – Is the goal too low?– Is the goal too ambitious?– Does the student’s percentile rank change?

Excel Goal Sheets
• Set goals for each of your students based on the information from today’s inservice– Individual decisions: realistic or ambitious?
• Complete the excel spreadsheet before you leave…
OR
• Email it to Elisa or Nancy– ejamgochian@uoregon.edu– nnelson3@uoregon.edu

Closing Activities
• Evaluation• Logistics:
– Review email from Nancy about probe schedule– Make sure to pick up probes from delivery box/bag
on appropriate day/time if site-based staff doesn’t disseminate folders to mailboxes• For site-based mail arrival times, email Nancy
• Questions?• Next meeting
– January 15– Discuss data-based decision making– Review goals – Begin instruction module
