Librarians and learning skills advisers with subject or discipline responsibilities work in faculty teams to ensure a consistent standard of service is offered across all branches and to all students where ever they may be located.

Role of liaison librarians• Conduct workshops on finding/using library resources
and collections (information literacy or information research skills)
• Provide guidance in the most efficient use of the library’s resources and services; citing and referencing
• Are available for individual consultations by appointment (postgraduates, research students, academics)
• Select resources which the Library purchases for the use of students and staff (catalogues, reading lists, GOBI)

Now that universities have identified a range of attributes that graduate students should obtain – information literacy and learning skills among them, a greater opportunity for librarians, learning skills advisers and academics to collaborate.
