There are six steps in the

Pomodoro Technique:

Decide on the task to be done.

• Set the timer to 25 minutes.

• Work on the task until the timer rings. If a distraction pops

into your head, write it down, but immediately get back

on task.

• When the timer rings, take 5 minutes break – and move!

• After 3 or 4 sessions of 25 minutes, take a longer break of

15–30 minutes.

Sleep, learning, and memory are complex phenomena that

are not entirely understood. However, animal and human

studies suggest that the quantity and quality of sleep have a

profound impact on learning and memory.

Research suggests that sleep helps learning and memory in

two distinct ways.

First, a sleep-deprived person cannot focus attention

optimally and therefore cannot learn efficiently.

Second, sleep itself has a role in the consolidation of

memory, which is essential for learning new information.
