Accidents at Work ESAW Labour Force Survey ad hoc module 1999

Occupational Diseases EODS Labour Force Survey ad hoc module 1999

Sickness absenceESWC Labour Force Surveysocial insurance data

Data availability: Some remarks

data for some countries are missing

data are collected for only one year (LFS ad hoc module: only 1999) or quite infrequently (ESWC: approx. every 4-5 years)

there is a long time delay between collection and publication of data (EODS: 3 years)

Improving data availability is a slow process if it is given no high political priority

Is it possible to set up a European work-related public health report?

What is the status of work-related health monitoring in the new member states?

WORKHEALTH II

Development of an European work-related health report

and establishment of mechanisms

for dissemination and co-operation

in the acceding and candidate countries

Basic understanding

European data as far as possible

supplement by national data

use available publications and reviews

audience: politics, public health, interested public

chapters rather short and easy to read
