WOLF HABITATS

The wolf’s population in Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Utah, and Wisconsin are removed from the protection of the Endangered Species Act.

If humans were as varied as do dogs, we would range in height up to 22 feet tall and weigh more than 1,000 pounds.

NGC traces the genetic journey from wolf to dog.

WOLVES

Wolfs play as characters in fairy tails.

The wolf is recognized as the ancestor of all dog species.

Wolves eat large meals like moose, caribou, and deer.

WOLVES IN THIS TIME

Wolves take viewers back 100,000 years to meet the mothers of all dogs.

Humans have been selectively training them for around 14,000 years to serve us.

Specially-trained dogs from the group, Conservation Canines, have been assisting scientists protecting endangered species since 1997.

WOLVES’ SENSES

With their highly sophisticated sense of smell paired with their insatiable urge to play.

Dogs can track scat (animal droppings) from miles and miles away.

Wolves are not really big, and bad wolves aren’t even harmful to humans.
