wSetup.exe has Renewed Digital Certificate

• Some customers got on-screen warnings on updating wMobile when our certificate expired.

• It’s been updated now and can be verified in the file Properties.

Improvements in Logs

• The user has been added to logs so we can tell which user has an error.

Access Logs• Access logs have been added in the Manager Console for

Phone and Desktop.• These logs were previously referred to as Performance logs

and were only accessible via SQL query on the WT_PerfLog table.

• The ‘PerfLog’ setting used to be enabled in System Settings. It is now enabled by default.

Improvements to wDiag

• Recently a check was added for Default Document in IIS for Phone and Desktop

• A validation was added for aspnet_client• A test was added for a valid Tmp directory, which is

used during installs and updates.

Record Type Rule

• We saw a login error on Desktop and an error searching in wMobile phone that was related to the Record type rule.

• The GoldMine Record Type rule text in SQL was missing a criteria such as the example below to use the current record type in view.

• Going forward, if a rule is not present, the default record type will be used.

Complete Activities for All Users

• There was a problem where the completed appointments didn’t synchronize to remote GoldMine instances. This has been resolved.

Fix in Virtual File System Settings (VFS)

• When using 'Select Linked Doc Folder Paths' the selected user is now taken into account.

• The VFS entry will be only for that user.

Lookup List Selection

• The selection appears with a pencil icon, as in Desktop Edition.

• It can be closed with the X to type in a value.

• Navigation is improved so you don’t get sent back to the top of the page.

Activities with Priority

• Some customers use the Time field on an activity for priority, rather than time. These activities were not displayed on the calendar in wMobile Phone.

Fixed!• This was discovered during a review of System Settings in the Manager

Console.

Phone | Activities | List | ShowAllActivities

When set to False, activities that are scheduled without a specific time are not displayed on the calendar, but there's a prompt to look at the activity list instead.

In the case where an activity is using Priority instead of time, this prompt is not displayed.

Fix with Email Template Attachments

• When using email templates with HTML files residing on a mapped drive or UNC path, wMobile ran into an 'Access Denied...' error.

• Also, some of the user_var values weren’t calculated properly.

• Both of these issues have been resolved.

Improvement in Setting User Contact

TabsThere is now a graphical user interface to select the desired tabs for wMobile Desktop.

This is located in Default User Options (and Users Options) underOptions | Desktop | Contacts | Selected Tabs

The admin can select which tabs will be displayed and in which order.

This setting can be made for an individual user in Users Options or applied to all users in Default User Options.

Alarm Sidebar

• The listing on the side will remain in date/time order. A scroll bar appears if there are many alarmed activities that haven’t been completed.

Notification Services

• The topic selected in last month’s poll was Configuring Notification Services. The Notification Service was added toward the end of the summer. We started with email notifications, and have now added support for activity notifications via SMS/Text.

wMobile Manager Console

• To configure the Notification Services, open the wMobile Manager Console and select Notification Services.

Rules

The Notification Service currently has 10 rules that can be enabled. Clicking on one will show the description in the bottom of the panel.

Individual rules can be checked (enabled) or unchecked (disabled).

These rules were created to be able to support activity alarms, GoldMine RSVP functionality, and notification on new scheduled activities.

You’ll notice separate rules for a single activity vs. an activity that is part of a series. GoldMine stores these differently, so separate rules are required to support these cases.

Demonstration

• Create a new activity and demonstrate alarms.

Monitor

In order for the alarms to be sent, the monitor must be enabled.

Select Save in the Actions panel on the right to preserve a change to this setting.

The wMobile Email Fetcher Service will need to be restarted for the change to take effect.

The Notification Service is part of the wMobile Email Fetcher Service.

• In order for emails to be sent, an email account must be configured for use.

• In order for SMS text messages to be sent, SMS settings must be entered.

Twilio

• Initially, wMobile has been configured to use Twilio, but can be adjusted if you use a different SMS service. Please let us know what service you’re using.

• The settings in the previous screenshot can be obtained by creating a Twilio evaluation account at www.twilio.com. If you decide to use Twilio going forward you’ll probably want to upgrade your account so you aren’t restricted by limits on evaluation accounts.

• Users that will be receiving texts from wMobile will need their phone numbers added in Twilio as ‘Verified Caller IDs’.

User Phone Numbers

• User phone numbers must also be entered in Tools | Options under the Personal section.

• We’ll be adding a method for the Admin to add these in the wMobile Manager console in the Users Options.
