Before-Kitchen Remodel, Point Loma Residence

Project goal: To expand a small, dark kitchen into a bright and airy great room that would maximize the ocean view and link it to the outside for entertaining. A non-loadbearing wall was removed opening up the space and creating a galley kitchen with a center island and bar. A closet opening was reoriented to create a walk in pantry eliminating most of the overhead cabinets. An 8' window was installed on the west wall to bring in the ocean and sunset views and a wrap around covered deck built off of the kitchen.

After-Kitchen Remodel, Point Loma residence

There was a 13' bearing wall in the center of the residence that created a narrow and unused space. A skylight was installed to allow natural light and a wine cellar was created from an existing broom closet with Japanese shoji doors.
