While applying punishment to children, we should pay attention because this is important . If we don’t pay attention enough to this topic , we can meet unwanted results, so we should be sensitive.

EFFECTİVE PUNİSHMENT Firstly, punishment should apply

suddenly for understanding wrong behavior. If parents or other people punish the child after a long time, children can’t understand why they are punished.

Punishment shouldn’t be cruelly, but it should have enough.

Parents shouldn’t change style of punishment.

Punishment can suppress unwanted behavior , but children can’t get rid of this wrong behavior totally.

AS A RESULTS; An important aspect of effective use of

rewarding and punishment should be consistency. If the use of rewards and punishment is inconsistent, it will be perceived by children as unjust and arbitrary.

Punishment is sometimes necessary, but it should be used as a last resort and not as an automatic reaction to children.

If children perceive punishment wrongly, children understand bad things like good things in the future. For example; If parents hit the child for warning with time, Children can detection that damaging to people is acceptable and maybe they can apply hitting to their children.
