Which JMU General Education course requirements do you need

to complete?

This tutorial applies to students transferring to JMU without a completed, accepted Associate Degree. Please review the module entitled Assoc. Degrees VCCS or Richard Bland College for additional information.

• A copy of your JMU Transcript Credit Report. If you do not know where to find your Transcript Credit Report, view the Understanding your Transfer Credit Report module.

• A copy of the JMU General Education Plannerlocated at http://www.jmu.edu/gened/_files/GeneralEducationPlanner.pdf

• Pen or pencil.

You need:

Use your JMU Transfer Credit Report to identify which courses count towards a JMU General Education requirement. Check the JMU course on the General Education Planner.

1. This ENG 112 course counts as the JMU Cluster One WRTC 103 course and completes the Cluster One Writing requirement.

Use your JMU Transfer Credit Report to identify which courses count towards a JMU General Education requirement. Check the JMU course on the General Education Planner.

2. This PED 1600 course counts as the JMU Cluster 5 HTH 100 course and completes the Cluster Five Wellness Domain requirement .

Use your JMU Transfer Credit Report to identify which courses count towards a JMU General Education requirement. Check the JMU course on the General Education Planner.

The AP credit for ENSCI counts as the JMU Cluster Three Natural Systems GEOL 115 course and completes the Natural

Systems requirement.

Based on this student’s Transfer Credit Report and mapping courses to the JMU General Education Program, the student has fulfilled the following.

• Cluster One Writing requirement

• Cluster Three Natural Systems requirement

• Cluster Five Wellness Domain requirement.
