Where to: draw the parts ofthe faceYou will need:

• Small sheet of paper from the shelf• Pencil• Eraser• Eventually, your folder

• Eyes should be 1 eye-width apart

Placing the Eye

• Start by finding the middle of your page

• Draw an eye and an eyebrow, slightly off center

Placing the Nose

• Nose length can vary, but generally is 3 eyes high

• The width of the nostrils line up with the inside edges of the eye

Creating the shape of the head

• 1/3 of the face is eyebrow to bottom of nose

• 1/3 of the face is bottom of nose to chin

• 1/3 of the face is eyebrow to hairline

• Eyes rest in the middle of the head

Finding the ears

• Ears will rest in the middle 1/3 of the face

• They can ride a little low, or a little high

Placing the Mouth

• Divide the space from the nose to chin into thirds

• The opening of the mouth is 1/3 of the way down from the nose

• The corners of the mouth will match up with the centers of the eye

• The chin will be the last third of the space
