product and why?

A film distributor is a company who advertises the film to an audience and also focusing on financing, publicising and other backing for the film. Our film will be distributed through media institutions such as production companies.There is the big six in film distributions; this consists of Warner Bros Pictures, Universal Pictures, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Columbia and Walt Disney Studios. These companies can ensure high budgets to be spent on their films.

However as our film is a horror film, we feel that the best distributor for our film would be Dimension Films. This is because they have a lot of experience in the distribution of horror films. They have distributed big hit horror films such as Scream and Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers. This is why we feel our film would be able to get the best result and advertisement with this company.

As our film is a low budget film we would be able to advertise our film through socail networking sites and the internet. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are very helpful to advertise our film. These are free to use and also increases our audience.

As a low budget film we could apply for funding from the BBC or Channel 4, these will finance projects, which they see as worthy.We can also apply for funding from Microwave Film London, here we could apply for funding as they finance films made by younger generations of film makers.
