WHAT IS A BRAIN STICK™?

A Brain Stick is:

• A huge set of classroom resources• Based on my books and talks and everything I

want to share with young people• To empower pupils to understand and care for

their brains, boosting learning and wellbeing

WHY “STICK”?

Because it’s all loaded onto a USB stick!

WHAT’S IN THE ACTIVITIES?

Brain Sticks contain:

• Animated films, Powerpoints, an audio, and masses of printable activities, including a sleep diary, student booklets and recipes

• The core is a printable 93-page book of 100+ varied teaching ideas, including discussions, investigations, crosswords, word searches

There are four main topics:

1. How the brain learns – useful facts2. How to make your brain F.L.O.U.R.I.S.H. – eg

with food, exercise, variety, sleep, mood etc3. The special teenage brain – adolescent

changes4. Tackling teenage stress – understanding and

managing, with skills for life

You could use the activities:

• In PSHE lessons • For house and group activities• For groups or individuals who are going

through a difficult time• For extra-curricular activities to boost

wellbeing • For STEM days

The licence lets you make unlimited copies

within your school or organisation

• Copy all materials onto every school computer• Copy onto teachers’ home computers for
