What is the Hugo Bustamante AYSO Playership Fund?

An online fundraiser that helps players who cannot afford to play AYSO soccer.

How does the Webinar work• This webinar is planned for 30 minutes• The Audio portion of this webinar is one way: all you need is

speakers on your computer• If you don’t have speakers, you can call into the conference

call number you received in the webinar confirmation notice• If you have any questions there is a section on the bottom of

the webinar where you can type your questions. We will answer these questions at the end of the webinar

Who is Hugo Bustamante?

The Hugo Bustamante AYSO Playership Fund was designed to honor Coach Bustamante and his AYSO team’s belief that EVERY child has the right to play soccer.

How does it work?Each Region will be given their own online fundraising page. This page will contain:• Custom message about why to donate. • Thermometer with a goal of $1,000 • A Donate Now Button

Update Your Website

We suggest that you add one of the banner ads onto your website or create a page for the Playership Fund.

How do I get my Region to donate?

The Region will then send out emails to their parents explaining the program and asking them to

participate.

What to the families need to do?

We have a suggested copy for an email they can send on to family and friends. We are suggesting that each player reach out to 10 or more potential donors.

What happens next?

After your families have sent their emails you now watch as the thermometer goes up when money is donated.

Why should your Region participate?

Your Region will keep 65% of all the money you raise. The balance will go specifically to pay for registration and uniforms so that children across the country can play AYSO soccer next season.

How long does it take?If I told you that the Hugo Bustamante AYSO Playership Fund takes less than 90 minutes to run successfully would you believe me?

It’s true! Ask any of our already participating Regions. We are providing you all the tools and resources to run this program with little to no effort. Your Region can raise as little as $1,000 on up to $10,000 depending on how dedicated you are to making this program work!

12 Easy Steps1. When you return from the meeting, discuss AYSO Playership program with your board

using the “Board Member Overview Information” as a handout.2. Appoint a volunteer/board member to coordinate and oversee the program.3. Go to the SpeedFund link and get your direct Region page by selecting View Profile and

then select your correct Section and Region https://e7apps.com/speedfund/index.php?group=AYSOPlayership&fundraiser_id=136

4. Post the “Website Page” information on your Region’s website. We recommend creating its own page and adding it to your navigation bars.

5. (Optional) Add the AYSO Playership Fund banner to your homepage and link it to your AYSO Playership Fund webpage or directly to your Region’s SpeedFund page for donations. You can also add a sentence to your news and announcements saying your region will participate in this program and link to the page you set up.

6. Send EMAIL #1 to all of your parents and players -- This email will explain what the program is and why it is important to have everyone participate.

12 Easy Steps cont.

1. (Optional) EMAIL Kory to get your own personal login ID and password to edit your SpeedFund page. This will allow you to customize the message and the logo.

2. Send EMAIL #2 to all of your parents and players – This email asks them to participate in the fundraiser.

3. 2 weeks after sending EMAIL #2, send EMAIL #3 to all of your parents and players – This is a 1st reminder to parents and players to participate in the fundraiser

4. 2 weeks after sending email #3, send EMAIL #4 to all of your parents and players – This is a FINAL reminder to parents and players to participate in the fundraiser

5. When your campaign is over, send EMAIL #5 to all of your parents and players congratulating them on their hard work, and sharing the success.

6. Send an occasional email to all parents and players on how funds are being used in the region.
