Welcome to Reception

Meet the Team

Bumblebee class Ladybird class

Mrs. D’Souza Mr. Moss

Settling in• Our aim is to settle your child happily into school life.

• Home visits

• We operate a staggered entry system. Your child’s first few days can be very unsettling especially in a new environment and we have found introducing the children gradually makes for an easier transition. In our experience, it is better to have the youngest children in first, as they can take longer to settle.

• Moving up afternoon will be held on Wednesday 2nd September .All children will come into school and spend 30 minutes with their new class teacher and class. .

• When children begin Reception they may feel upset or nervous, therefore we would encourage you to talk to your child about starting school.

• Transition booklet will help to prepare you child for September.

Staggered Start

• Moving Up Afternoon: Wednesday 2nd September. A 30 minute slot between 1.00 and 3.00pm.

• Your child’s staggered start date will vary, the first group of children will begin on Thursday 3rd September, with everyone in by Monday 7th September.

• All children will stay for their full morning session on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September from 8:55-12:00.

• From Thursday 10th September all children will stay for lunch, and can either be picked up at 1:00pm or complete a full day and be collected at 3:25pm.

• Monday 14th September: All children are in full time 8.55-3.25pm.
