• Alaska grantees and grantees in the lower 48 will have a different strategic planning process!

• Generally, strategic planning is part of the OJJDP Tribal Youth Program grantee requirements

As an OJJDP Grantee you will work with your designated Training and Technical Assistance Center to complete a “Strat Pak” to develop a comprehensive project plan. Alaska Grantees will work with The Resource Basket TTA Center and all other Grantees will work with Tribal Youth Resource Center.

Strat Pak Site Visit

• Individualized to Grantee community

• January or February

• Resource Basket staff will arrange with the Grantee POC for the best time

• Grantee’s Advisory Committee must be available to meet for a 1 or 1 1/2 day meeting during the Site Visit

• Work through the Strat Pak with the Advisory Committee during that visit

The OJJDP Tribal Youth Strategic Planning Meeting is a mandatory* three-day intensive “hands-on” training that is highly team-centered and interactive Tribal Youth Program grantees will have an opportunity to work closely with OJJDP TTAC representatives and their OJJDP program managers to begin the first stages of development of their strategic plans for implementation of their program for tribal youth.

(Strat Pak)As established by the OJJDP “special conditions” in your grant award, Tribal Program Coordinators must be

represented and are required to bring three (3) additional people to form a team of key program and

community stakeholders. These stakeholders are people who will be instrumental in mobilizing your grant

program, community and essential partnerships. These individuals could include but are not limited to:

• Elder

• Cultural support staff

• Other community members

• Tribal law enforcement

• Other youth serving program staff

• Elected tribal official

• Other service provider that is integral to the success of your initiative

Week of December 16th : The Tribal Youth Resource Center will contact you to follow up on any questions you may have from the CTAS Orientation meeting.

Week of January 6th : The Tribal Youth Resource Center will contact you to:

- Update POC and new hires information for TYP grant - Identify potential Strategic Planning Meeting team members- Map out next steps for Strategic Planning Meeting preparation
