There are three things that, together, make us unique:

1. A commitment to academic excellence

• City is among the top 5% of universities in the world (Times Higher

Education World Universities Rankings) and top 30 in the UK (Times

Higher Education Table of Tables 2012)

• City has 15 areas undertaking research of a quality comparable with

the very best in the world (latest Research Assessment Exercise)

• City has a history and heritage stretching back to Victorian times
