Week 2Jesus is the Way

Why Christmas?

John 14:1-7 NASB

Why Christmas?

1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

God’s Plan of Salvation• Creation of Man

Why Christmas?

Genesis 1:31 NASB

Why Christmas?

“God saw all that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”

God’s Plan of Salvation• Creation of Man• The Fall of Man

Why Christmas?

Genesis 5:12 NASB

Why Christmas?

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.

Romans 6:23 NASB

Why Christmas?

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 3:23 NASB

“For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”

God’s Plan of Salvation• Creation of Man• The Fall of Man• The Law (Old Covenant)

Why Christmas?

Hebrews 9:22b NIV

Why Christmas?

“…and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness for sins.”

Romans 7:7 NIV What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

God’s Plan of Salvation• Creation of Man• The Fall of Man• The Law (Old Covenant)• The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ (New

Covenant)

Why Christmas?

I Peter 1:18-19 NASB

Why Christmas?

“…knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.”

John 3:16 NASB

Why Christmas?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Romans 10:9-10 NASB “…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

God’s Plan of Salvation• Creation of Man• The Fall of Man• The Law (Old Covenant)• The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ (New

Covenant)• The Return of Jesus Christ

Why Christmas?

I Thessalonians 4:15-17 NASB

Why Christmas?

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Scriptures Affirming Salvation Comes Only Through Jesus Christ

Why Christmas?

No-where in God’s word does it even hint at another way to God.

Without Jesus there is no plan of salvation!

Why Christmas?

If there was another way to God, Why……isn’t it mentioned in Holy scripture?…would God send his only son to be mocked, beaten, tortured, and hung on a cross to die a humiliating and painful death?

Why Christmas?

Acts 4:8-12 NASB

Why Christmas?

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people, if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. “He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone. “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
