• What is a sensory detail? Name all the senses. What is a word picture? Why is it important in your introduction paragraph?

• Do think that using a word picture in your introduction will help you pass the FCAT Writes? Explain.

• A word picture is a description of a scene or situation.

• It is made up of sensory details (touch, taste, hearing, smell, sight).

• Using a word picture allows the reading to see, touch, taste, hear, and smell what the writer describes.

• My best day ever was when I went to the park. It was the best because we had food, drinks, and my friends were there. Now let me tell you why it was so great.
