Mrs Gilhaney enjoys teaching literacy. She likes

spending time with her family and going swimming.

Numeracy and Maths

Children will be developing skills in:

Addition and subtraction

Numbers to 100

Using appropriate vocabulary to describe position

of a number (e.g. before/after/between)

Counting forwards/backwards on a number line

Time-days of the week, months of the year,

seasons and special events.

Money- Recognising coins up to £2, can pay for

goods up to 20p, can give change from 20p.

Pupils will explore number in a variety of ways

including using Numicon, computer software and

through play.

Interdisciplinary Topic

Under the Sea

Children will be developing skills in:

Understanding the difference between living and non-

living things

Exploring food chains

Looking at the different states water can change between

Making sounds with objects related to the sea

Using our senses to explore the environments

surrounding the sea

Christianity and other World ReligionsChildren will be developing skills in:

Becoming aware of the importance of certain festivals

and celebrations in different world religions.

Discussing Christianity and some beliefs Christians have

about God and Jesus.

Homework Sound / Word Tins- Practise every night.

Please bring word tins to school every

day. Please practise spelling the common

words as well as reading them.
