Professional Development Opportunity

Enhancing student inquiry at the South Australian Maritime Museum

Unlock the past and discover ways to structure learning experiences that enrich student inquiry in a museum setting.

Thursday 24th July, 2014(Last day of school holidays)

Work with the DECD specialist teacher based at the SAMM and engage in a range of authentic, hands on, practical inquiry experiences. These can be used to develop student’s historical skills, knowledge and understandings, both inside the classroom and in real-world contexts.

View our exciting new exhibition, Rough Medicine: Life and Death in the Age of Sail and discover learning experiences for students that align with the Australian Curriculum.

Cruise the Port River onboard our historic police vessel, The Archie Badenoch and discover how key questions and concepts can be used to give students a focus for their learning.

Connections with TfEL and the Australian Standards for Teachers are made explicit throughout the day.
