CAUSE OF THE ISSUE
» uncontrolled land clearing activities were being carried out in several forest reserve areas.
» polluted with toxic pesticides
» caused by the opening of farms and treatment plant.
EFFECTS:» Death of aquatic (water) animals» Diseases- because of poor drinking water
treatment from contaminated waters.» Spread of disease: cholera or typhoid infections
and diarrhea.» Affects body organs: can cause injury to the
heart and kidneys.
Prevention/Solution» Never throw rubbish away.
» Use water wisely- prevent water shortages and reduces the amount of dirty water that needs treatment.
» If use chemicals and pesticides for gardens and farms, be mindful not to overuse pesticides and fertilizers- reduce runoffs of the material into nearby water sources.
