Individual settings are recommended for some supports

Separate test sessions are not required for students with a PNP

For paper-based testing, students must be in sessions by deadline

Once a student is in a session, some supports cannot be edited

PNP supports apply to all subjects

Personal Needs Profile Overview

The Personal Needs Profile (PNP) definesa student’s specific test supports for testing. Keep in mind:

Test Session Overview

Students must be placed into test sessions for both computer and paper-based testing. By creating test sessions:

– Students receive the correct form type dictated by their PNP

– Students are able to log into TestNav

– ACT Aspire can assess and deliver the appropriate number and type of paper materials for your students

– ACT Aspire is able to generate and pre-print the student’s answer document

Name the session and provide any instructions

Add or verify proctor caching

• After selecting your school, select New Test Session from the Dashboard, or select Create a Test Session from the Summative Tests menu

Test Session Details

• Test Session Details allows you to monitor the test session and student progress, manage students in session, and authorize users and their access

• Invite new Room Supervisors to the Portal• Add/Edit existing users to update access to

the test session

• Either click View All Tests from the Summative tab, or select Find My Test Sessions from the appropriate Tests menu

• Options available to help search and filter sessions

• Test Session Details allows you to manage the test session

• Click Edit to update the session details

Student Authorization tickets:– Contain the URL and login

information for students to access TestNav

– Can be printed for an entire school, individual test sessions, or individual students

– Should be treated as secure material

Starting Test Sessions

Room Supervisor Training: CBT17

• From Test Session Details, click the test status button and choose Start Test

• Click OK on the confirmation and Auto Refresh notification; session status will update to In Progress

Starting Multiple Sessions

• From My Test Sessions, click the test session name button for all tests or the individual tests

• Click Start Sessions, session status will update to In Progress

Viewing Student Status

• View student test status and number of questions student has answered on the Test Session Details screen

• Sections update as student progresses through the test

Prohibited Devices and Testing Aids

• Students are not allowed cell phones, tablets, or any electronic communication devices on their person

• Verbal Instructions warn students to not set watch or cell phone alarms

• Room Supervisors should not set alarms on their watch or cell phone, as this can also distract students

• Notes or any English dictionary is not permitted; if a foreign language (word-for-word) dictionary is approved for a student, this is permitted

Prohibited Behavior

The following student behaviors are prohibited:

• looking at someone else’s computer screen or scratchpaper

• giving or receiving assistance

• disturbing other students

• using notes or unauthorized testing aids

• using a calculator on any test other than the 6-EHS Mathematics test

• sharing a calculator with another student

• using any device, including calculators, to share or exchange information at any time during the tests or during break

• attempting to remove or send test questions or answers from the test room by any means

• exhibiting confrontational, threatening, or unruly behavior

• creating a disturbance or allowing an alarm or phone to sound in the test room

• Comments icon will allow you to enter an irregularity reason and comment

• Click Save to complete entry

• From Test Session Details, click the Comment button and select Add Comment; enter a reason and comment, then click Save

Closing Test Sessions

• From Test Session Details, click the test status button and choose Close Test

• Warning will ask if you are sure; click OK to continue• Once a session is closed, you can no longer enter irregularity

information for a student

Test Coordinators should be notified of the irregularity

Should first be recorded by Room Supervisors

Must be completed by school personnel

Document circumstances that affect student scores

Irregularity flow:

Reporting Irregularities Overview

Original test attempt will not display in the SPF data files

Original test attempt will not display on the ISR

Allows student another attempt at the grade/subject

Test attempt will display in SPF data files as “INV” to

indicate invalidation

Test attempt displays on reports; “Invalidate”

message in lieu of score

Counts as a test attempt; student cannot take same

grade/subject again
