CURSIVE HANDWRITING

We will be spending time this year practicing our cursive. It is a process. We will start out slow. Please practice these skills with your child.

STUDENT GRADES…Papers will be sent home every other Friday.

Grades can be accessed via the Internet.

AGENDAS…•Please sign agendas nightly.

•Place transportation notes in the agenda.

•All students are required to write their homework in the agenda daily.

Please Note…If your child misses school for any reason, it is his or her responsibility to ask for and return make-up work.

HOMEWORK POLICY

•Missed homework=Missed recess

•5 points will be deducted from quarterly homework grade for each missed assignment

4 dots per day= Silent lunch AND No recess

8 dots in one week= ITS (In-Team Suspension)

No Dot Reward If the student did not receive any dots in the month, then he/she will attend the Dot Party (lunch) at the end of each month!

ACCELERATED READER

Every student is required to continuously read AR books. They must maintain at least 1 point a week with a 70% or higher average.

Each child is responsible for taking AR tests throughout the school day.

VOLUNTEER FORMSIf you are planning to join us on any field trips this year, or you would like to volunteer time in our classroom, please fill out a VOLUNTEER FORM.
