2013-14COLLEGE REOPENING
The college reopened after the summer vacation on 3rd June with a candle procession followed by a prayer session led by Vice Principal Rev.Sr. Dr. Benedicta . Principal Rev. Sr. Reethamma gave the inaugural address in which she highlighted the significance of this academic year being the Golden Jubilee Year and the death Centenary of our foundress, servant of God Mother Eliswa. Principal Rev. Sr. Reethamma welcomed all the teaching, non-teaching staff and students.
ENVIRONMENT DAY
A sapling was planted in the college campus by our Principal Rev. Sr. Reethamma and she emphasized on the importance of saving nature and the mother Earth.
JUBILEE MASS
The jubilee year celebrations started off with a Holy Mass seeking the blessings of the Almighty by Patron Most Rev.Dr.FrancisKallarakal (Archbishop of Verapoly). The jubilee anthem was also released on the same day right after the mass.
MAGIC SHOW
JanasevaShishuBhavan conducted an inaugural ceremony of a project for saving the street children which was inaugurated by renowned cricket player Sreesanth. The inaugural function was followed by magic show by famous magician Dr. GopinathMuthukad. Our students participated in the same which was conducted in Mahatma Gandhi Municipal Town Hall.
JUBILEE ANTHEM COMPETITION
An inter-department golden jubilee anthem competition was conducted in the college auditoriumin which all the departments participated. The judges for the event were Ret.Prof.Ambujakshy. P & Ms.ReeniNileena Xavier.

A famous channel program ‘Youth Club’ of Asianet was hosted in the college auditorium with the energetic participation of our students.

‘KALEIDO’, the talent day was held in the college auditorium in which the fresher’s i.e. the first years of the college showcased their talent through various cultural programs.
ONAM CELEBRATION
Celebrations began with the true spirit of Onam in the auditorium with the Principal’s message.. The day was made colorful with competitions like MalayaleeManka, Onappaattu, Pookalam and spirit of onam. The judges for floral competitions ,Onnapattu , Spirit of Onam, MalayaliManka areMs.Hydi from Mega Motors, Ms.Sabitha Raja &Ms.AnjuVenugopal and
Ms.Greeta of Mereena Beauty Parlour respectively. All departments participated whole-heartedly. Rev. Sr. Reethamma distributedthe prizes to the winners soon after the competition.

RALLY COMPETITION
Our college participated in the rally competition inaugurated by MLA Anwar Sadath& conducted by Aluva Municipality from Girl’s High School Ground to Municipal Town Hall. We secured first place among the various teams participated. Theyyam, Muthukkuda, Pulikkali and Kummattykalli added vibrance to the event.
FLORAL CARPET CONTEST
Our students won 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes in floral carpet competition held at Mega Motors, Pulinchode, Aluva and received a cash award of Rs.5000/- , 3000/- and Rs.1000/- respectively.
QUIZ COMPETITION
FathimaAlfi T. N &NismaHussain of III rd year Zoology Vocational secured Ist prize in quiz competition on the focal theme “ A Healthy Atmosphere, the Future We Want’ conducted by Department of Biosciences , MES College, Marampally and sponsored by KSCSTE in connection with International Ozone Day Observance.
KERALALOTSAVAM
Our students secured various prizes in cultural events conducted at the regional level by Aluva Municipality at Mahatma Gandhi Municipal Town Hall. We got First prize for Thiruvathira, Patriotic Song, Kavitharachana and Kathaprasamgam; Second prize for Patriotic song, Oppana, Light Music and Kavitharachana and Third Prize for Light Music and Kavitharachana.
NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY
The Student Union Council and NSS unit together celebrated National Education Day by holding a rally from college to Pump junction, Aluva. All staff and students participated enthusiastically with the placards .A placard competition on the theme ‘Science & Society’ was conducted.

Students of Botany Department secured 2nd prize in Thiruvathira competition in District Level held at Vazhakulam Block Panchayat.
RETIREMENT OF Ms.GRACY AND HONOURING OUTSTANDING ALUMINI MEMBERS.
Our office staff Gracychechi was bid an emotional farewell on her retirement from the college in the auditorium. The outstanding alumini were honoured and they shared their nostalgic memories along with their experiences.

Xaverian day of the golden jubilee year was celebrated with full splendor. The function commenced with the Holy Mass in the Parish Church from 11.45am -1.00 pm and was followed
by an array of cultural programmes in the college auditorium. It began with the Welcome address of the Chairperson- Pearl Augustine. Principal Rev.Sr.Reethamma addressed the gathering and conveyed the feast day wishes. Interdepartmental synchronization dance contest was the highlight of the day. Members of the dance and music club gave a visual treat to both eyes and ears.

The festal celebrations began at 10.30 am on 19th December, 2013. Principal Rev. Sr.Reethamma delivered the Presidential address and the Chairperson-Pearl Augustine welcomed the gathering which was followed by the inauguration of the function by lighting the X’mas tree and cutting the X’mas cake by the Principal. GOLDEN JUBILEE INAUGURATION
The function began by displaying a documentary on St.Xavierscollege for women at 11.00 am. The golden jubilee celebration was inaugurated by Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam -former president of India. The presidential address was delivered by Rev.Mother Liza-General manager of CTC. Principal Rev.SrReethamma delivered the welcome speech. By 12.00 pm Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam addressed the gathering and had an interactive session with students. His motivational words were an inspiration to all the students and teachers.Ten oaths for the progress of the nation was taken on behalf of him. The felicitation addresses were given by Very Rev.Mon Alex Vadakkumthala,Hon'ble MP K.P Dhanapalan, MLA Anwar Sadath and CUSAT Prof.AmbatVijaykumar. Chairperson Pearl Augustine proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded at 1.00 pm with the national anthem.
NAZAARA - 30th & 31st JANUARY
In connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the college union 2013-14 organised a shopping expo named ‘NAZAARA 2014’ in St.Xaviers College for women, Aluva. It was officially inaugurated by Principal Rev. SrReethamma. It was a true shopping experience for all the visitors and the expo included items such as designer sarees, salwars ,kurtas, home décor ,
accessories, bamboo articles , jute bags ,food and juice stalls. The function successfully came to an end on 31st January 2014.
‘RITHU’ 2014 - COLLEGE YOUTH FESTIVAL- 3rd -7th FEBRUARY
The most awaited college youth festival RITHU 2014 was conducted on 3rd Feb to 7th Feb with grandeur. It was a dazzling display of talents. All the students actively took part in it.

UNION AND ARTS INAUGURATION
The function commenced at 10.30 am with a prayer song followed by Xaverian Queen Competition. Merisha John, IIIrd B.Com student bagged the coveted title followed by Eleena Thomas, II DC Mathematics, being the first runner up and Fonzi Francis, III DC Mathematics third runner up respectively. The inauguration of Students Council took place at 1:00 pm with a welcome address by the Student Council Advisor Dr. Newly Joseph. The Presidential address was delivered by Principal Rev. Sr.Reethamma . The newly elected College Union was officially inaugurated by the distinguished Chief Guest of the day Smt. SushamaSreekandath (CEO of AVT McCormick Ltd) and she enthralled the audience with her igniting words followed by lighting the lamp. Installation of the office bearers was done by the Principal and the newly installed chairperson Pearl Augustine gave her promising acceptance speech. Felicitation was given by the staff secretary Ms Rani K.A. The Students Union Secretary Jain Mary Sajeev proposed the vote of thanks.
Arts club inauguration began by the breath taking perfomances of the Dance and Music club members. Chairperson Pearl Augustine welcomed the gathering . The Arts-club was officially inaugurated by the upcoming charming cine artist Miss NamithaPramod by lighting the lamp and bursting the poppers. Miss NamithaPramod addressed the gathering. The formal function came to an end with the vote of thanks by Ms.Kartika.S.Nair, Arts club Secretary.
